Meet my Mum, Maureen – 86 years young and still a fantastic cook and dessert creator. Mum seldom uses a recipe and everything always turns out delicious!

With winter chills and colds, this is a delicious chai recipe. If you don’t like turmeric, this is not for you!
It’s best served hot and probably wonderful with honey if you’re in the throes of a nasty cold as honey is the miracle healing gift of bees.
We like our golden milk spicy and rich with spices. If you prefer a lighter touch, ease up on the spice qualities!
Ingredients
Heat milk gently, add spices, sugars and lastly the essences.
Whisk until bubbly and hot, serve in a heat proof glass to enjoy the beautiful colour as you warm your body with this delicious inflammation prevention.
If you have whole cardamom pods and cinnamon sticks to hand, that would be lovely too to add.
